Affiliated with ChristianMingle.com, JDate.com and Spark.com, the BlackSingles.com dating service is one website in a network of scamming sites. By now, we have figured out that the people who own and run these sites use the same conning tricks to rip off naive users who are only looking for some online fun. Directed at the black population, or to those interested in meeting and hooking up with gorgeous and single black people, this site will lure you in and cause nothing but headaches.
Continue reading this review to learn how BlackSingles.com scams you and is hiding it all under the mask of a friendly and hospitable dating site. We reveal it all, here.
What raised our red flags BlackSingles.com
1) Messages Start Flying In
BlackSingles.com uses computer-automated messages, which are managed by computer software and sent to you and other real site members as marketing tools. This means that no one is actually sending you emails and no one is interacting with you. It’s all computer software created to contact you at different periods of time, cheat you and make you reach for your credit card.
TERMS OF USE EXCERPT: “By becoming a Member, You agree to accept and consent to receiving email communications initiated from Us or through Us including, without limitation: message notification emails, “Your Match” emails, emails informing you about events and parties We organize, emails informing You of changes to the Service and emails informing You of promotions that either We provide or that are being provided by third parties.”
2) Paying Money To Use BlackSingles.com
Some naive people actually fall for these conning tactics because they are deceived by the site and lead to believe BlackSingles.com can provide real dating and matchmaking services. The biggest scam of all is when this site tries to charge you for using the features. Whenever you try to interact in any way with other site members – you are asked to upgrade your account to a paid membership. Here is the price list BlackSingles.com offers you to choose from:
- $9.99 for a monthly subscription to the site
- $20.97 for 2 months of subscription (renewed at $6.99 per month)
- $29.94 for 6 months of subscription (renewed at $4.99 per month)
3) They Take And Reuse Your Profile Data
What we are trying to explain is that BlackSingles.com, as well as all other sites owned by the same company have the exclusive right to take any information you upload and post on the site. Moreover, they can freely and without any legal consequences reuse your personal information (including photographs) however they wish. They can use them to create new dating profiles that will contain your personal info – but won’t be you, or they can mix and match the data taken from many users to make unique combinations.
However, these profiles are not accessible by you, so it’s very confusing who is running them. We believe they are used as fabricated profiles, used to fill up the site and make it look like many people are using it. Plus, the site can use these fake profiles to send you computer-automated messages and deceive you into paying a subscription fee.
TERMS OF USE EXCERPT: “By posting information, photographs or content on any Service, You automatically grant, and You represent and warrant that You have the right to grant, to Us and other members, free of charge, an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully-paid, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display, promote, publish and distribute such information, content and photographs and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such information and content, and to grant and authorize sub-licenses of the foregoing.”
The verdict on BlackSingles.com
We hope this was enough information to war you against the scams and frauds that exist on this so called “dating service”. We believe there is no point in becoming a member of BlackSingles.com. They will charge you without asking, they will serve you lies, and when you finally realize what has happened they won’t be held responsible since “you should have read the terms and conditions” before moving forward on this site. Now, they say this site’s services are intended for “entertainment purposes only”, but we haven’t met someone who was entertained from being conned and ripped off.
