Is CompatiblePartners.com A Safe Dating Service (REVIEW)

Compatible Partners

CompatiblePartners.com is an affiliate program of eHarmony.com – a dating site we have already reviewed and shown why it’s not a legitimate or recommended dating service. This means that many of the terms of service that apply for eHarmony.com also apply for CompatiblePartners.com. What should you be looking out for when signing up and creating a profile on this site? We hope we can help you by answering some of your questions, here.

Is CompatiblePartners.com a legitimate site?

Just as for our investigation on eHarmony.com, besides using the service for a while, we read through the terms and conditions of use document to help us find solid evidence of any fraudulent actions. Sadly, it turns out that CompatiblePartners.com may not be the ideal online dating platform for same-sex relationships for several reasons.

1) License To Your Posted Content

Starting from the photos you upload on your profile, to your descriptions of what you want and who you are, to the onsite communications you have with others – CompatiblePartners.com gains absolute rights over this content. The data you post can be lawfully reused and shared on any other dating site affiliated with eHarmony Inc. or other networks they sign a contract with (which means they can “sell” these information to other third party contractors”. In other words, once you post any data CompatiblePartners.com, it will soon be available and distributed to many other dating sites, and you won’t even know about it since there are no clear notifications, other than the mentioning of these actions in the Terms of Use. Moreover, CompatiblePartners.com offers you the opportunity to sync (link) Facebook and other social media networks to your dating profile – and this means that they will probably also gain rights over your social media information.

EVIDENCE OF SCAM: By posting information or content to any profile pages or public area of the Service, or making it accessible to us by linking your Compatible Partners account to any of your social network accounts (e.g. via Facebook Connect), you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to the Company and its users, an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully-paid, worldwide license to use, reproduce, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such information and content, and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such information and content, and to grant and authorize sub-licenses of the foregoing.”

2) The Use Of These Information

If you are wondering why would a dating site go through so much trouble to gather information and to distribute them throughout dating networks, keep in mind that these site probably don’t have as many members as they claim to have. We have two common-sense conclusions based on the previous paragraph:

a. CompatiblePartners.com takes your information and freely reuses them to create profiles on other dating websites. You do not have any control over these created profiles, and you may not even be aware of their existence for a very long time.

b. All dating websites within the eHarmony Inc. family are allowed to do the same. So, the profiles of site members you see on CompatiblePartners.com may not be genuine, but created by the reused data taken from other people on other dating sites.

EVIDENCE OF SCAM: Not all registered users are available for matching. From time to time, the Company may create test profiles in order to monitor the operation of the Service.”

3) Fraudulent Communications

While some communications between you and CompatiblePartners.com may be strictly for operational reasons, we believe the site also contacts you through computer-automated messages (email and chat) to engage you in the services and convince you to pay for an upgrade of your free membership. Also, once you subscribe to the service, in the premium package there is an option for telephone communications with your match, which we believe are maintained and provided by employees of the site.

EVIDENCE OF SCAM: We may use your email address to send you messages notifying you of product launches, important changes to the Services or special offers. Further, we may contact you by telephone if you voluntarily provide us with your telephone number, in order to communicate with you regarding the Services.”

4) It’s All About The Money

As we mentioned in the paragraph above, members that sign up for free won’t be able to use all features of CompatiblePartners.com. Actually, other than signing up nothing else is free and you will have to pull out your credit card and pay if you want to communicate with anyone or explore the site. Knowing that the site creates its own fake profiles and uses them to send you computerized messages – CompatiblePartners.com seems like a rip off. Here are the offered payment options:

Basic Membership

  • $59.95 for 1 month of subscription
  • $119.85 for 3 months of subscription
  • $179.70 for 6 months of subscription

Total Connect Membership

  • $134.85 for 3 months of subscription to the site
  • $203.70 for 6 months of subscription to the site
  • $287.40 for 12 months of subscription to the site

EVIDENCE OF SCAM: “In order to provide continuous service, Compatible Partners automatically renews all paid subscriptions for the Services on the date such subscriptions expire. We always communicate renewal periods to you in the subscription plan page, before you finalize the purchase, upon confirmation of your subscription and in the body of any special promotions sent to our users.”
